The last week has been blissful with its quiet exits. August has realized that he can get out of bed and play with his toys. There is no need for him to come to the door/gate and scream for us to come get him. We are now greeted by the sounds of trucks careening off his table onto the floor. Or music from one of his instruments. Or even by the sound of him "reading" books.
This development did not follow long after he realized that he can get out of bed after we put him down. Once again we find our selves sitting in his room/doorway reading until he settles down. Our presence seems to nip it in the bud. However he does sometimes surprise us by sneaking out once we think he is down.
